Overview

 

This position reports to the Manager, Payroll and is responsible for the oversight and processing of AAWW domestic and international payrolls, payroll system maintenance and testing, and related general ledger functions. In addition this role is responsible for pulling and analyzing reports for the Payroll team. This role supervises payroll specialists and performs review and approval of payrolls.

Responsibilities
  • Review and approve payroll for the company and its subsidiaries domestic and international employees on a semi-monthly. bi-weekly and monthly basis
  • Perform audits and reconciliation of payroll information to ensure accuracy.
  • Supervision, training, development and performance management of staff, as well as the management of employee issues and problem resolution.
  • Process payrolls, as required
  • Perform and manage testing of payroll system upgrades and configuration changes
  • Identify and implement areas of system & process improvements
  • Partner with HRIS to ensure system integration and HR processes impacting payroll are effective
  • May perform payroll system maintenance configuration, if required
  • Understand, and administer collective bargaining agreement and ground staff payroll related items as required
  • Work with HRIS to ensure all IRS, State and Local mandated configurations and system Taxation Profiles meet approved Agency compliance requirements.
  • Submit, code and approve payroll-related invoices; review and approve journal entries.
  • Participate in and contribute to all projects impacting payroll
  • Create, run and analyze semi-monthly, monthly, quarterly and year-end payroll reports for Accounting and HR.
  • Create ad-hoc payroll reports and provide payroll information as needed.
  • Year-end W2 review to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Tax inquiries and new tax jurisdiction setups with the tax agencies and in the payroll system.
  • Respond to all payroll inquiries received in a timely manner.
  • Assist with reviewing and updating SOX narratives and payroll process documentation as needed.
  • Work with HR, Benefits, Legal, Accounting, Treasury, Flight Ops Admin and various business units to resolve issues and provide payroll support and information as needed.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications
  • 7+ years’ experience with hands-on multi-state payroll.
  • Associates degree and/or relevant supervisory experience preferred.
  • Crew payroll knowledge preferred.
  • Experience with Ceridian-Dayforce and Workforce Management preferred.
  • General knowledge of all federal, state and local payroll tax laws and filing, reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Working knowledge of payroll related best practices, applicable wage and hour regulations and strong ability to accurately interpret and apply organizational procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Experience with information system integration, project management, payroll functions and controls
  • Effective communication, prioritization and organization skills
  • Ability to provide positive and professional customer service reflecting time-sensitivity and the highest degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction to meet deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced experience in Microsoft Excel

Salary Range: $70,500 - $95,500

Job Requirements

  • Hold a current unrestricted FAA ATP certificate with an airplane category multi-engine class rating and English proficiency endorsement  
  • Current FAA Class 1 Medical Certificate  
  • Hold an FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit  
  • Hold a current and valid passport with no restrictions on international travel, including the ability to obtain entry visas for locations in which Atlas Air operates 
    • All passports should have a minimum of 24 months validity
    • Legal name (including compound last names) must match on passport, employment authorization documents (if applicable) and FAA licenses and permits
    • Ability to obtain CANPASS permit (Canadian Customs program)
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States and possess proper working documents (meaning you are a U.S. citizen, you have a permanent resident ‘green card,’ an EAD, or other basis to work legally within the U.S.) 
  • Successfully complete a DOT pre-employment drug test  
  • Minimum age of 23 years of age and the maximum age of 65 as pilot positions are subject to FAA 121 mandatory retirement regulations  
  • Ability to pass a 10-year security background check, the Pilot Records Improvement Act (PRIA), and Pilot Records Database (PRD) evaluation 
  • Ability to provide 5 years of domestic and/or foreign (if applicable) training records or adequate supporting documentation
  • Ability to work varying schedules including reserve duty, weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Thorough working knowledge of all Federal Aviation Regulations applicable to FAR Part 121 Operations
  • Must be able to adhere to the Atlas Air First Officer Crewmember Uniform Appearance Standards

Required Flight Hours:  

  • Minimum of 1,500 hours of total time
  • Minimum of 1,000 hours of fixed wing time -or- 500 hours with a 121 or 135 operator, or rotary Military flight training graduate with a minimum 250 PIC hours of fixed wing

NOTE: ATP Certificates issued with a “CIRC APCH-VMC Only” limitation is acceptable.   

 
Preferred Qualifications:  

  • 2500 hours of total time operating in an FAA part 121, 135, 91 or Military environment
  • 500 hours of turbine time
  • Recent flying experience (greater than 200 hours within the last 12 months)
  • Significant wide-body, PIC, Military AND/OR international flight experience, complex avionics, (e.g., Boeing Honeywell, Boeing Collins, Collins Proline, Garmin G500/G1000/G3000/G5000)
  • Multi-crew experience with knowledge of CRM/TEM
  • Operations in complex airspace with significant experience in sophisticated instrument work, e.g. LNAV/VNAV or RNAV approaches and/or FMC manipulation
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Flight, Aviation Management, or related field preferred; or equivalent experience

Overview

Reporting to Regional Director of Maintenance, the Manager of Line Maintenance is responsible for managing all aspects of maintenance at their assigned station(s).

Responsibilities
  • Supervises Technical Representatives and/or Line Maintenance Supervisor(s) as assigned. Coordinates personnel schedules to provide maintenance as required in support of aircraft operations.
  • Ensures the safe and efficient maintenance of company aircraft within his geographic area, in accordance with company policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for managing, coordinating and providing oversight for approved Contract Maintenance Providers in his geographic area as necessary.
  • Ensures personnel under his supervision are trained and qualified in accordance with GMM policies and procedures. Assigns, monitors and documents on-job training as required to ensure a proficient, trained and qualified workforce.
  • Monitors Flight Schedules and fleet status to ensure best use of resources, ground time parameters, and aircraft routing. Coordinates line maintenance requirements with MCC, Maintenance Stations, Materials, Quality Control, and A/C Planning/Marketing Departments.
  • Maintains surveillance of line maintenance activity at assigned station(s). Provides resources and technical support as necessary in cases of major mechanical problems.
  • Responsible for the timely repair of deferred maintenance items. Plans and assigns specific repairs to qualified personnel consistent with availability of materials and aircraft ground time.
  • Ensures communication between Maintenance shift personnel regarding aircraft status and incomplete maintenance issues to ensure that maintenance not completed as a result of shift changes or other interruption is completed before an aircraft is returned to service.
  • Responsible for timely return of correct and accurate aircraft maintenance log pages to HDQ.
  • Coordinates with MCC for maintenance and aircraft status information. Maintains liaison with MCC for planning purposes and routing of aircraft with significant maintenance problems to stations where repairs can be effectively accomplished with minimum disruption to aircraft scheduled pattern.
  • Monitors mechanical problems, Aircraft and Powerplant performance. Repeat Item and Oil Watch Programs. Formulates corrective action plans in coordination with MCC.
  • Provides technical assistance and coordinates with operators that have contractual obligations and/or maintenance agreements
  • Maintains communication with Regional Manager to ensure cost effective application of resources and provisioning at respective stations.
  • Monitors line station spare engines and regional availability of lease engines.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the Director of Line Maintenance
  • Ensures maintenance representatives / personnel under their supervision are adequately trained and appropriately qualified to perform assigned duties.
  • The Manager of Line Maintenance may delegate/ designate all or specific authorities of the office, performing all its major functions to a qualified individual as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum of five (5) years relevant experience
  • Minimum three (3) years managerial experience
  • Must hold a current and valid FM Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant
  • Must maintain Company required qualification and authorization for Airworthiness Release.
  • Must possess detailed knowledge of aircraft and avionics systems and principles of troubleshooting.
  • Must be able to gain entry and work visas to countries the company operates into.
  • Travel to destinations to support the operation

Responsibilities
  • Primary responsibility for company vehicles and Ground Service Equipment (GSE) to ensure all are maintained to meet all company and governmental requirements and safety regulations.
  • Provide high level of superior service to departments, while controlling costs related to maintenance operations and repairs.
  • Indenty and work with vendors based on service ratings, cost and quality to ensure company vehicles and GSE are maintained in accordance with all company and governmental requirements and safety regulations.
  • Work with different departments within the organization to gather information and assess repairs for company vehicles and GSE.
  • Responsible for the regular inspection, maintenance, and repair of GSE used in the support of operations. All work shall be conducted in accordance with the manufacturer’s schedules and industry standards with an overall goal of zero unscheduled downtime during operations.
  • Coordinate all inspections and repairs for company vehicles and GSE. Ensure all scheduled preventive maintenance inspections and preservation maintenance are performed.
  • Maintain and update the company-registered drivers lists and company-insured vehicle lists.
  • Possess an excellent working “systems” knowledge of the GSE operation and related maintenance including fuel, cooling, lubrication, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyance, electronic, and controls systems.
  • Maintain local corrosion prevention and control program (within the parameters of the Company requirements and local restrictions).
  • Schedule and oversee component repairs or overhauls necessary to maintain all equipment per OEM standards.
  • Track and maintain the company assets to include titles and registration as applicable.
  • Responsible for weekly reporting on repair issues and other coordination of company vehicles and equipment.
  • Follow Company, customer, and regulatory agency policies and procedures, including those related to safety, health and environmental.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Two-year technical college degree emphasizing heavy equipment repair and maintenance or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2 or more years supervisory experience in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Ground Service Equipment utilized in the operation.
  • Familiar with all aspects of Ground and Cargo Operations including Loadmaster, handling hazardous materials, de-icing, fueling, catering, security, etc.

  • Strong knowledge of modern data stack technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Airflow, dbt).

Salary Range: $210,000 - 250,000

Overview

Qualifications

 

  • Mechanic’s Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) ratings preferred

  • A suitable four-year college degree with an emphasis in Business or Aviation maybe substituted for experience or FAA certificate.

Qualifications
    • Minimum of five (5) year experience as a PSR in a charter/commercial environment.

    • Airline and/or ground handling experience is required.
    • Knows and adheres to company operating and safety policies, operations, processes and procedures appropriate to the job.
    • Understands and uses airline and flight terminology and processes.

Overview

Responsible for achieving all ground operations goals as they relate to performance, safety, service and regulatory compliance. Provide oversight and direction to vendors contracted by Atlas Air and customers of Atlas Air. Ensure compliance by performing quality control audits of flight folders. Perform all aspects of ground operations including loadmaster, hazardous materials, deicing, fueling, catering and security.

  • Monitor our customers and vendors for compliance with Atlas procedures for all ground operations functions.
  • Perform quality control audits of flight folders to ensure compliance.
  • Keep management informed of any operational issues that may affect/impact operational performance.
  • Ensure our customers/vendors and employees are current with all operating requirements and focus items affecting ground operations.
  • Responsible to ensure reliability, performance and safety goals for our customers, vendors and employees are achieved.
  • Monitor ramp activities and performance to ensure safe and timely aircraft handling.
  • Collaboratively develop action plans with those performing below established goal to improve performance.
  • Actively work with all other departments to continuously improve the service to our customers and control costs.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by Station Manager
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 4 years of aviation experience
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must be qualified in all areas of ground and 767/747 Cargo operations.

Overview

Provide oversight and direction to vendors contracted by Atlas Air, and customers of Atlas ACMI flights, ensuring that proper Atlas and FAA handling procedures are used in the performance of duties.  Assist / oversee flight handling coordination for all Atlas departments, Crews and ground handlers.

  • Ensure that all required preload checks are accomplished in order to ensure cargo, ULD integrity and compliance.
  • Coordinate and supervise all cargo- related functions associated with handling the flight, which includes inspection of ULD’s, checking the weights randomly or on site inspection of pallets being weighed prior to being loaded onto Atlas Air or Polar Air Cargo aircraft.
  • Conduct a thorough HAZMAT check of all outbound cargo.
  • Check Accuracy of NOTOC, create NOTOC if necessary.
  • Ensure that the departing crew receives NOTOC in a timely manor so that crewmembers may conduct their inspection.
  • Compute Weight and Balance.
  • Receive and reproduce flight plans, weather, NOTAM/INTAMS and any other documents sent to the flight crews from Dispatch to operate their flight.
  • Send and receive aircraft movement and load messages to and from up line and down line stations via SITA, e-Mail, fax or any other means required to notify all concerned.
  • Alert crews for flights and arrange ground transportation for crew between aircraft, operations, and hotels as required.
  • Ensure catering is delivered on board accurately and on time; promptly notify the catering department of any discrepancies and assist with rectification as directed.
  • Supervise aircraft and loading crews.
  • Ensure that the station-marshalling plan is followed by vendors and ground handlers, as required.
  • Replace and/or revise aircraft manuals and Jeppesens, if instructed.
  • Conduct FOD and Safety audits as required.
  • Identify potential problems as they develop and work with the Station Manager and Ground Operations Coordinators to reach resolutions.
  • Ensure that all required Atlas reports are completed and distributed.
  • Follow all required safety and security procedures as dictated by the Ground Security Coordinator (GSC) and the TSA.
Qualifications
  • Background in the airline industry or aviation preferred

    • Review and analyze aircraft technical delay data and MEL’s to identify recurrent maintenance issues.
    • Organizing data collection and analysis for various fleet technical issues for use in the Reliability and CASS programs.
    • Reviewing, monitoring, and evaluating systems, structures, and component performance.
    • Performing analysis of aircraft maintenance program to achieve the highest level of safety and economics.
    • Monitor Reliability Data for the 767 and 777 fleets for adverse trends that could affect the ETOPS fleet and participate in the event investigations process as required.
    • Review, monitor, and evaluate ETOPS related alerts.
    • Preparing monthly ETOPS operating summaries and associated reports.
  • Assisting the Engineering department with Tableau dashboards and data analytics to support predictive maintenance.
  • Maintaining relevant reports and visualizations in the Reliability/CASS section of Atlas’ Tableau online portal.
  • Utilizing Boeing Airplane Health Monitoring (AHM) and Fleet Reliability Statistics Tool to analyze long term Reliability trends.
  • Reviewing and evaluate maintenance discrepancies generated from pilot write-ups, maintenance write-ups, and non-routine cards. Initiate actions on findings that show an adverse trend.
  • Collaborate with the Trax Administrator to ensure relevant reports needed for Reliability analysis are available or developed and maintained on the company’s server.
  • Work closely with business users, analysts, and other stakeholders to gather reporting and dashboard requirements.
  • Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports in Tableau that provide insights into business operations, trends, and KPIs.
  • Conduct data exploration to understand trends, correlations, and patterns within the dataset before building visualizations.
  • Manage extracts, schedules, employee access levels and data refreshes for various reports and dashboards in the company’s online Tableau portal.
  • Work closely with IT and Trax Admin teams for network configurations, and data warehouse support to facilitate Tableau live connections, scheduled and ad-hoc reporting.
  • Leverage Tableau’s API to integrate Tableau with third-party applications like TRAX or Veoci.
  • Automate report generation and distribution where applicable using Tableau Server or Tableau Online features.
  • Keep up to date with the latest trends and innovations in data visualization to ensure the organization uses the best tools and methods available.
  • Use Python programming language to create automated workflows in Excel to assist in post heavy check reliability reporting.
  • Performs other duties as directed by the Director of Reliability.
Qualifications
  • Extensive Reliability Program, Maintenance Programs, Engineering, or CASS experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation or Business and at least five (5) years of experience. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in supervising people.
  • Proficiency in data and statistical analysis a must.
  • Must have and be able to demonstrate solid writing and communication skills (verbal/oral), and organization skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Proficient PC skills including Access, PowerPoint, Excel, TRAX, Tableau, and MS Office.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective leadership and interpersonal skills with an ability to supervise a team.
  • Technical knowledge of relevant aircraft and engine types: 747, 767 and 777 aircraft.

Overview

Sets up and follows up on all ground handling and service functions for Charter and ACMI offline operations.

Responsibilities
  • Liaison between all Atlas online and offline stations to relay airport restriction information such as vendors, staffing and notam closures to all operating parties
  • Serves as point of contact for all inquiries for the Ground Ops department via 24/7 phone line
  • Confirm aircraft fuel operations, crew and passenger catering provisions, aircraft deicing services, passenger handling, and aircraft cabin services are in place according to standard operating procedures
  • Track fuel services on passenger and cargo aircraft per station.
  • Send updates to fuel supplier and into plane vendor of any schedule changes as needed.
  • Track Approved Vendor List (AVL) to ensure compliance with fuel and deicing activities
  • Assist in the initial set up and revisions of official documents provided to the designated vendors per charter and/or operation. Coordinates with vendors to ensure services are in place and rendered.
  • Present valid General Declaration and Landing Rights form to U.S. Customs & Border Patrol to obtain approval as required on International flights.
  • Present completed Aircraft Prior Permission Required form to Military Base Operation to obtain approval as required prior to date of operation.
  • Maintain department’s database with information pertinent to General Declaration and Landing Rights filing.
  • Assist in the coordination with main-line stations regarding supplies and stock levels required for flights/operations
  • Support all other departments as needed
  • Track Residual disinsection of all company aircraft to ensure country/regional compliance requirements are met
  • Ensure Positive Launch items have been vetted and approved for all AMC operations
  • Assist with setup for ADHOC operations such as diversions, ACMI offline, & SA offline
  • Assist with crew base access procedures for applicable AMC stations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • BA in Aviation required or equivalent ground handling/airline operations experience
  • Minimum of four years airline experience or equivalent

We are building an industry leading data team and the Senior Director of Data Platform and Engineering will drive the development of our data platform from a legacy, multi-solution data environment to a modern data platform built on Databricks. We are looking for an enthusiastic, hands-on, get-it-done, team-driven leader with experience in building secure, scalable and high performing data infrastructure.

The Senior Director of Data Platform and Engineering will partner with senior stakeholders across the company to help teams draw insights from their data. As one of the company’s key data evangelists, you will help embed a data-driven culture across the company. You will oversee the development of our data platform and implementation of robust data pipelines, solutions, and infrastructure while leading a team of talented engineers.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, fostering innovation, growth, and technical excellence.
  • Define and execute the strategic roadmap for data engineering initiatives aligned with business objectives.
  • Design scalable, reliable, and efficient data architectures to support analytics, machine learning, and business intelligence.
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to understand data requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
  • Establish data engineering best practices, standards, and governance processes.
  • Drive the selection, implementation, and optimization of data technologies and tools.
  • Ensure data quality, reliability, and security across all data systems.
  • Manage project prioritization, resource allocation, and budget for the data engineering function.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in data engineering, with at least 5 years in leadership roles.
  • Proven track record of successfully building and leading high-performing data engineering teams.
  • Deep hands-on technical expertise in data integration, ETL/ELT processes, and data modeling.
  • Strong knowledge of modern data stack technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Airflow, dbt).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and their data services.
  • Excellent understanding of data governance, compliance, and security principles.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of real-time data processing frameworks and streaming technologies.
  • Background in machine learning operations (MLOps) and data science infrastructure.
  • Experience working in the aviation, transportation, or logistics industry or with similar data challenges.
  • Track record of speaking at industry conferences or publishing on data engineering topics.

 

Salary Range: $210,000 - 250,000
